Calling attention to all Hawaii Auto Repair operators

 

 

 

Hawaii law (Section 437B-15, Hawaii Revised Statutes) requires a motor vehicle repair dealer or mechanic to give the customer a written estimated price for the parts and labor necessary for a specific job prior to commencing repairs.

Please remember to have all new customer's sign the Customer Consent Form under section 437B-15 and old customers who you haven't had sign the form yet. What this means is you only have to have your customers old or new sign this form once per vehicle.

If you don't and you work on the vehicle the customer can come back and say they didn't authorize the work and you will be out all the costs regardless of an invoice or estimate being signed.
